In adulthood, theta/beta and theta/alpha ratio showed stronger differences between the groups than in the younger group. Adult ADHD was associated with a higher amount of theta/beta.

The results of the study are backed by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Nevertheless, more research is needed to better identify the pattern of development of these biomarkers candidates and to assess their diagnostic specificity.

ADHD is an absence or delay in the development of neural system. The clinical phenotypic appearance is caused by a myriad of factors that include environmental, genetic, and non-genetic. It isn't known whether these causes contribute to ADHD's clinical predominant outcome.
