Albums

Toto's discography includes 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won multiple Grammy Awards.

Before the formation of Toto, band members did sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen left The band held auditions to find a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their album Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band went through old tapes and recordings to create the special record. Toto has released numerous music videos. The band has also released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video for the group is "Africa", which has over one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library, with the band performing on top of the stack of African books.
