Guide To Item Upgrades: The Intermediate Guide On Item Upgrades
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
item upgrades (https://selfless.wiki/) are a common and important way to improve the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Sometimes, however upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear because of their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be used on armor and weapon items. They boost the performance of the item upgrader kit that they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the game's world and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be rescued from items with upgrade components inside them, with a professional or higher salvage kit.
The amount of damage that an armored item or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the extent of its upgrades. The damage absorption of an armor piece will increase when it's upgraded to the highest upgrade level. However, it's important to note that this will also raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than before.
There are a few different kinds of armor upgrades that are that are available in the game and each one has distinct effects. For example, some upgrades give the armor a certain amount of health points while others will make it lighter and stronger. The name of the upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade an item level upgrade can be given, as illustrated below.
Some upgrades also feature magic or a hybrid of magic and technology, which is identified by an "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees to use. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades refresh every day or never expire, according to the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest method to improve your armor. You can find it by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can provide significant improvement in stats and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.
The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece up to the max upgrade level will increase its defense value. However, it will also decrease the speed and agility of the piece. This is why it is typically not recommended to upgrade most armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the defensive boost gained is generally not worth the weight and power cost of the improvements required.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain firearms also have upgrades that enhance their inherent characteristics. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).
Most weapon upgrades require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. They can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.
To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain amount of bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. The cost of upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would be reset.
It's possible, but it depends heavily on RNG. It is better to purchase gear with minimal upgrade levels but with high base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a better chance of giving you the most prestigious tier of advantages and benefits.
To improve their skills faster, many players prioritise upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons their teammates use to make them stronger. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to increase its utility when paired with experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve the effectiveness of a skill or provide additional effects on weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, in which you combine gemstones with specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the quality of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.
The quality of a gem can be improved at the Jeweler in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ depending on the level the jewel is in when it is inserted into weapons, jewelry, or gear.
All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels which require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain these. Jewels can be replaced with another jewel without destroying the original. However, you can only replace one jewel in an item of equipment only once.
It is typical to use more jewels to enhance the appearance of. The jewels also improve performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than metal so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to them.
A Glyphmaster can offer glyphs to improve the appearance of your shields and weapons. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped out at any time, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs may also be removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis can't be swapped, and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that provide a wide range of small, but beneficial advantages to your hero. They are available in the starter area as loot or personal story rewards. They are also available through vendors and after the completion of road interactions. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased from the Trading Post.
The first trinket a player will unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny, but useful bonus in speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player can then collect necklaces, amulets, and rings in a similar fashion similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that accepts either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded and only works with certain kinds of trinkets.
These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This enables the hero to be more effective while inactive and also helps make up for a lack of a solid team or any slots from the talent tree which would normally be filled with hero's ideal stats.
A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best item upgrade-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats, but less important than the iLevel of the item upgrader mod being upgraded. This is true especially if you are looking to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It is more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat instead of two subpar ones.
Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one prior to the beginning of the game. Top and mid players however, will choose either a pink or green ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices will have an impact on a hero's ability to control the map.
In addition to the items mentioned above, players will also find other trinkets that form trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story, for instance finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. You can check them out by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
