Path of Exile Item Upgrades

item upgrades [learn this here now] are a common and essential way to boost the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can be a good source of damage, more AD or even more attachments.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to the more modernized Common or Magic gear due to their high demands.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be applied to armor and weapon items. They improve the stats of the Best item upgrader they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be rescued from items with upgrade components within them by using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it will absorb. A piece of armor upgraded to its highest upgrade level will boost the damage it absorbs. But, it's important to keep in mind that this will raise its weight, requiring it to be heavier than it was before.

There are a few different kinds of armor upgrades available in the game and they all have different effects. Certain upgrades give armor an additional number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item can receive, as shown below.

A few upgrades also feature magic or a hybrid of technology and magic which is indicated by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Furthermore, some upgrades require charges to use, and are shown by the "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire according to the upgrade.

The cheapest way to upgrade armor is to use Iron Ore, which can be found through exploring the surroundings and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive, however, it is available through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give players a significant boost in stats, and are well worth the cost.

The player must be aware that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level will boost its defense. However, it can also reduce its agility and its speed. Therefore, it is typically not recommended to upgrade armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the added defense is typically not worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of certain aspects of a weapon. For instance an upgrade can improve the damage that is caused by the shells of a shotgun or the accuracy of a sniper rifle. Some weapons have special upgrades that enhance their inherent qualities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of weapon overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed to cause more damage) are two examples.

Most upgrades for weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade. These can be obtained by finishing side quests, killing a certain amount of bosses or monsters, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.

Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a set number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars you will need to complete the upgrade. If you have multiple upgrade materials The cost of upgrading will be less.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed a bit. Before, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay a certain amount of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to a higher level of rarity. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level, at which point the upgrades would be reset.

It's still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. You should consider buying equipment with low levels of upgrade but with high base scores and stat distributions. These items have a greater chance of giving you the highest tier benefits and blessings.

The majority of players will prioritize weapon upgrades for the weapons they most often use to make sure they are able to level up quicker. In addition players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons they use with their teammates to increase their power and effective. Shepard for instance should upgrade his M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels can be used to increase the stats of a character or to provide additional effects on weapons and armor. Jewelry crafting is the process of making them, where you combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and sometimes by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The Jeweler can boost the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Depending on the tier of the gem it will give different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.

All levels of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a certain level to obtain the privilege of having them. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without damaging the original. However you can only swap out a jewel in an item of equipment once.

Utilizing more jewels in the movement will make it feel smoother and is usually performed to enhance the aesthetics of the movement. In addition to enhancing performance, the jewels also create an area that is stronger than metal, so repeated friction from pivots won't damage them as easily.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your weapons and shields. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be traded, but they're not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold, and also Scattered Crystal. Glyphs are also removed from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components such as traits or aegis can't be exchanged and can only be retrieved by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets are small pieces of equipment that bestow an array of small, but beneficial advantages to your hero. They are available in the starting area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained from vendors and by the completion of road interactions. They can also be made by jewelers, and then found or purchased from the Trading Post.

The first trinket a player unlocks will be the cloak. It grants a small but useful bonus to movement speed and the ability to escape. The player can then acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar manner as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be used in any kind of equipment while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with specific types of trinkets.

These trinkets also grant additional buffs and skills that remain active whenever the hero is not fighting. This allows the hero to become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also make up for the absence of strong slots in the team or talent tree which are usually filled by the hero's optimal stats.

As a rule trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best item upgrader in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace soon. Then, you should consider any items that have desirable statistics aren't as important as the iLevel for the Best item upgrade to be upgraded. This is especially true when an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, since it's generally more beneficial to upgrade one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one prior to the beginning of the game. Top and mid players on the other hand they will select a pink or green ward, depending on the game's matchup. These choices can impact the ability of a hero to control the map.

In addition to the items listed above, players will also find other trinkets in the form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story, such as finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. You can view them by selecting the achievement from the reward section of the hero's menu.
