Choosing a Double Pushchair Twin

You need a double stroller to take your twins from one place to B. Our range of twin prams includes twin buggies that can be set up in different ways to suit your needs.

Look for a pushchair that folds in one step and is easy to carry into your car. You could also opt for an ultra-lightweight design, particularly in high traffic streets.

Side-by-Side

This is the most common double pushchair. It is usually able to accommodate two children side-by-side. They are generally wider than single pushchairs, which means they're less agile on footpaths and can be a bit difficult to navigate through kerbs when a car seat is attached. The extra width makes them easier to maneuver through doorways, and they are more evenly distributed so that it is easier to carry around on your back.

They can be used as twin prams travel system from the beginning and a lot of models can be used with a carrycot and 2 car seats. Some models can be converted into one mode by adding an additional basket (like the Cybex Venus).

The Bugaboo Donkey 5 is a excellent illustration of this. In Twin Mode, you can fit the rear seat alongside a carrycot. This allows you to create an entirely enclosed twin space, which is perfect for newborns. The pram and car seat is also equipped with a couple of really neat accessories, such as the newborn cocoons that can be put on face either way (for twin-facing prams) or facing forwards (for a standard single). It's not as lightweight as other options but it is extremely well-thought out.

Lightweight

Cybex is known for its nifty pushchairs and the single-to double is no exception. The frame can be enlarged to accommodate an additional seat. It is possible to use the pushchair as twins from birth by putting in two cocoons for babies, each costing PS59. These cocoons create lie-flat areas that are enclosed. It can also be used as an individual mode with only one child, thanks to a large basket that is placed behind the seat. It also has a rear and front suspensions to take on bumps and uneven surfaces a little more easily. A top pick among our reviewers.

Available in a variety elegant colors.

Tandem

If you're planning to have twins you will need a tandem pushchair. This allows the children to sit together and see each one another. They are great for trips to the zoo as the children can look at the animals together. These are also great for Baby Strollers parents who want to monitor both their toddler and baby at the same time.

Some tandem pushchairs are incredibly adaptable, since they can be converted to single mode. This is particularly useful for families with more than two children (or just your eldest does not require a buggy anymore). This will save you from having to store a buggy that's empty which can be expensive.

For example the Cybex Venus can be used in double or mono mode, and features a clever frame that can be expanded to accommodate an extra seat. It's not the lightest of pushchairs, however it comes with an enormous shopping basket which is located behind the front seat in double mode (and behind the seat when it's mono mode). The seats can be set to face each other or one could be placed higher so that it can look over the other and see what they're doing.

Other double tandem pushchairs like the Joolz Geo 3 can seat one on top of the other or side-byside. They feature a sleek, compact frame that makes them easy to navigate through doorways and aisles of supermarkets Some models can even be used as a jogging stroller newborn on rough terrain, thanks to a four-wheel suspension and large rear wheels.

Another benefit of a tandem pushchair is that it will often use two carrycots or a car seat, and a buggy seat. You can save money by establishing an overall travel system from the beginning and not making separate purchases. Remember that tandems are heavier and longer, and they may appear less stable when you bump into kerbs or navigating uneven surfaces. They also need dismantling in order to fit into cars.
