Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album it was an ode to the classic sextet format, and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the growth of the band. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were as well more refined, more precise, and less derivative on previous efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live show in Amsterdam that was released as a two-CD set called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
