Study of Chinese Learners' Pedagogical Choices in Korean

For example the DCT cannot account for cultural and individual differences in communication. Furthermore it is also the case that the DCT is susceptible to bias and can cause overgeneralizations. It is essential to analyze it carefully before it is used in research or evaluation.

Despite its limitations the DCT is a valuable tool to investigate the relationship between prosody, information structure and non-native speakers. The ability of the DCT in two or more stages to manipulate social variables related to politeness is a plus. This ability can be used to study the effect of prosody across cultural contexts.

In the field linguistics, DCT is one of the most effective tools to analyze the communication habits of learners. It can be used to study many issues, such as politeness, turn-taking, and the choices made in lexical use. It can also be used to determine the phonological complexity of learners' speech.

They attributed their resistance to learner-internal factors such as their personality and multilingual identities. They also spoke of external factors like relational affordances. For example, they described how their relationships with professors led to more relaxed performance in regards to the intercultural and linguistic rules of their university.

The interviewees expressed concern about the social pressures and penalties they could be subject to if their local social norms were not followed. They were concerned that their native interlocutors might view them as "foreigners" and think they were ignorant. This concern was similar to those voiced by Brown (2013) and Ishihara (2009).

These findings suggest that native speakers' pragmatic norms are not the default preference for Korean learners. They could still be a useful model for official Korean proficiency tests. But it is advisable for future researchers to reassess their relevance in specific scenarios and in various contexts. This will allow them to better understand the impact of different cultures on the classroom behavior and interactions of L2 students. Furthermore it will assist educators to create more effective methods to teach and test korea pragmatics.
