The name implies that the GE Profile series is geared towards the consumer who wants to incorporate cutting-edge features into their kitchen. This fridge has them all including a Keurig K cup coffee maker on the door to a sophisticated dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This refrigerator is costly, so I expected better.
This refrigerator is a good choice, despite the small blip. It has a huge freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth French-door refrigerators. It also has a large capacity for frozen food items compared to other models.
Inside the fridge, you'll find 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a French-door fridge at this price. It also has a decent sized ice maker packed into the left-hand door, although it's not the biggest I've seen.
You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create a custom storage setup for the items you need to store. The GE PYE22PYNFS's design for the interior is good-looking, too. The LED lighting adds a nice accent. The bins for storage inside come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store large items. The drawers are equipped with temperature controls, so you can set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, although I found their plastic textured coatings a bit difficult on the fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the all the features you'd expect from a fridge at this price, including Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and has numerous options for customization. It also alerts you when doors are left open, when the refrigerator or freezer is in need of defrosting, and when it's time to change the filter.
It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill, an option available in a handful of other GE fridges that allow you to choose how many cups of water you'd like to dispense at once. It also has a countdown feature on the display of the fridge to display how much water you have left, but it's not as effective as Precise fill.

This refrigerator was rated as the most efficient in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never changed more than a tiny fraction - this is crucial to avoid freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the refrigerator also did well. It reached the initial temperature within an hour and maintained the temperature throughout our testing.

It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has a standard French-door layout with gallon-sized door bins at each door, two rows of shelves that capture spills, and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to give taller items more space. You'll also find a full width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.
The refrigerator comes with an ice maker, making it easy to transfer the ice when needed. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers to help you better organize the placement of your items. It has a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate one for ice.
Smart InstaView panel is a cool feature of the refrigerator. It allows you to manage the refrigerator's temperature as well as lighting using your smartphone. It's a good method of monitoring and managing your refrigerator, especially if you're away from home.
The Smart InstaView feature is neat however it doesn't improve the performance of the fridge. In fact it took a bit longer to defrost and chill foods in this refrigerator as compared to other fridges we tried. This could be due to its bigger capacity.
The doors pose a problem with this fridge. They have handles that are sunken on the front that allow shorter people to easily pull them open from the bottom, but they're still difficult for taller people to pull closed without slamming the doors. It would have been more effective to have front-mounted handles.
The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a good option for those looking to combine the benefits of a French-door refrigerator's aesthetics with a more efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model and it cools evenly and has a good layout. It's also a bit less than the best counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which can make it a popular choice.
Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It's a minimalist design that isn't as visually striking like some of the competitors however it comes with enough features to make it a solid choice. Its most important feature is the adjustable temperature drawer which helps keep food items like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water and ice maker dispenser.
Another feature that is worth mentioning is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you redirect some of the fridge's cooling power into this area so it can be used to store food items that require extra attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the general settings are more effective than the specific ones.
During my tests, the temperature of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the refrigerator. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray much from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a great performance however it doesn't make it into the top ten in our ratings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also pair this fridge with a smart thermometer to get more precise readings of your fridge's temperature.
The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of stainless steel with a grey-bodied body which has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
